Braces

We offer Orthodontic treatment

Currently, the most popular types of braces used include:

Metal Braces

These traditional braces aremost often seen on children and teenagers. Metal braces are the most affordable, come in different colors, and use a system of brackets and wires to move the teeth over time.

Ceramic Braces

These braces work like traditional metal braces, except that the brackets bonded to the teeth are made of ceramic. They are the same shape as metal braces but are clear or tooth colored.

Retainers

Once your braces are removed, a retainer is utilized to hold your teeth in their new positions until your bone, gums, and muscles adapt to the new teeth positions. You must wear your retainer as instructed, as otherwise your teeth may move toward their original positions and the benefit of wearing your braces will be lost.

Your orthodontic retainers should be worn at all times for the first several months with the exception of brushing your teeth and eating.

Emergency Care

Orthodontic emergencies are very rare. Most orthodontic problems can be addressed at home. For situations you cannot resolve on your own, please call our office as soon as possible so we can schedule an appointment for you. Be sure to follow the instructions provided to you for caring for your orthodontic appliance. This may include avoiding hard or chewy foods like ice and caramel candies, and being sure to wear mouth guards to protect fixed appliances during high-impact activity.
